I absolutely love stone in any part of the house. A few months ago I had a guest blogger on from Norstone USA, speaking about natural stone veneer panels. Today I thought about stone in the kitchen, do you like it? Do you have it in your home? Here’s a few pictures to help you carry this inspiration into your home.
When using stone, consider the scale of the rock to be used. If large blocks are used, less is always more. While smaller stone can be used in more abundance.
If you prefer, have stone in adjacent spaces to carry through the stone theme.
Look at this unique stone nestled into this “range hood” area.
Be careful that too many materials aren’t clashing or competing. This adjacent stone wall adds just enough visual interest, without becoming busy for the eye.

I prefer the first kitchen. I think the stone is a bit overwhelming in the other photos.

Thanks for commenting Ann! You think? I like how the stone doesn’t start until above the cabinets in the second photo. Thanks so much for visiting Stagetecture.

Hi Ronique,
I love this post! I’m a huge fan of stone as well. I prefer the stacked stone. The color scheme has great mix of cool and warm color, with the stone providing the “pop” for the room. I have been toying with the idea of what to add my kitchen thats different. Thanks for sharing. Now to convince my husband…..:)
