Peanut butter cookies are a delicious temptation and you’ll be amazed at the speed at which your family consumes them. They are soft, chewy, and literally melt in your mouth. Make them for your autumn get-togethers or family gatherings and impress your loved ones with your cooking prowess. If you’re a peanut butter fan, you’ll be happy to know that half a cup of that tasty stuff goes into the mixture. Here’s how to go about making those heavenly delicacies.
Cinnamon Apple Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup shortening
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter (reduced-fat peanut butter not recommended)
- 1 egg
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ cup peeled and grated apple (you can also use diced apple)

Directions
1. In a large bowl, whisk the peanut butter, sugars, and shortening until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the vanilla and egg and continue to whisk until they are fully incorporated. Mix the dry ingredients and gradually add them to the creamed mixture. Stir in the apple and place the cookie dough in the fridge for 30 minutes to chill.
2. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Use a tablespoon to spoon the dough onto the cookie sheet. Bake each batch for 9 to 10 minutes or until the cookies start to turn golden brown. After they’re ready, remove them from the oven and cool them on a cookie sheet before moving them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Grated or diced apples give classic peanut butter cookies a fun and unique spin. Serve the cookies with a glass of cold milk or a cup of hot coffee and create the perfect snack for a chilly autumn day.
