How to Make Gluten Free Banana Bread Recipe

A classic banana bread recipe that has been stripped down to the absolute essentials might be your best choice for a hassle-free Sunday morning brunch. It’s even better if you opt for a gluten free bread because that’s a healthy option without requiring you to compromise on taste and flavors.

Banana bread recipes can be tweaked in a number of ways by adding or substituting ingredients but this time we’ve found a gluten free version of a classic banana bread recipe from Taste of Home.

How to Make Gluten Free Banana Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

2 loaves (24 slices)

2 cups all-purpose baking flour (gluten-free)

2 cups ripe bananas (4-5 medium size; mashed)

½ cup walnuts (chopped)

½ cup unsweetened applesauce

1/3 cup canola oil

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup sugar

1 teaspoon baking soda

4 eggs

1/4 teaspoon salt

Gluten Free Bread Directions:

  1. Mix the all-purpose gluten-free flour, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Whisk the eggs, canola oil, vanilla extract, applesauce, sugar, and mashed bananas in a small bowl. Now, stir into the flour mixture into this egg mixture until it becomes moistened, not watery or gooey.
  2. Coat two 8-in. x 4-in. loaf pans with cooking spray. Sprinkle chopped walnuts and pour the mixture on both the pans evenly.
  3. Insert the pans inside your oven and bake for 45-55 minutes at 350°. Remove the cakes from the oven when a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  4. Keep the pans aside for 10-15 minutes and then remove the bread loaves to wire racks.

Banana Bread Recipe Tips:

  1. If you want to make the recipe healthier, substitute sugar with honey and use a bit more Gluten Free baking flour.

We know, you’re dying to slice in but be patient! Wait for an hour or more before putting a knife through this absolute delight as it may crumble or fall apart otherwise. You surely don’t want that!

Normally, gluten free bread tends to be dry and crumbly but following this banana bread recipe will yield hearty, moist, banana flavor-loaded, and amazingly satisfying banana bread that makes your guests and family members do nothing but rave about it!
