De-clutter
Holiday organization or not, take it as a thumb rule; before anything comes in, something goes out. Take time to assess your inventory and see what you have got. Here is a simple organization tip: If it’s broken or damaged, throw it away. If you don’t like it, give it away. In other words, don’t let broken ornaments or unwanted items take up unnecessary space in your beautiful house.

Start shopping
It’s never too early to begin your holiday shopping. Fighting the shopping crowds is perhaps one of the most stressful things about the holidays, so if possible get the majority (if not all) of your purchasing done before the rush builds up. This way you will have plenty of time for all other pre-holiday tasks. To make things easier, create a list of everyone and everything you have to shop for. Be sure to set a budget before you head out. If time allows, start wrapping gifts as you buy them. Not only will it help you to arrange them in a much organized manner but you can also cross off another big task of your list.
Get help from family and friends
You don’t have to plan, decorate, and organize everything on your own. Try to involve other family members. Not only will it help to break up the work, it will make holiday planning a fun family activity. Especially, get the kids involved. They can make the decorations, help to put them up, and may even help out in baking. Alternatively, chore swapping is another great idea to save time and keep things organized.
Holidays will be here before you know it. So, to avoid strain and a potential meltdown, it’s recommended to start your holiday planning and organization in advance. Use these organization tips along with other strategies for managing the upcoming holiday season.
