Get Involved on Campus:

This is the simplest tip to help you start to feel at home in your new surroundings. College is full of opportunities to get involved and make new friends. You can make sure that the time you spend hitting the books has a huge impact by taking advantage of your school’s – often overlooked – academic resources. If you’re struggling in a particular class, visit your professor’s office hours. Odds are he’ll be glad to have the opportunity to help and may even take your extra effort into account when calculating your final grade. If you hate writing papers, check out the writing center. They can point you towards credible sources and lend an extra pair of eyes when editing.

A visit to the learning center will help you get the biggest impact out of your study time.

Many restaurants, theaters, attractions, and events make a practice of offering discounts to current students who can show an ID. Like the modest colours on the walls, western curtains were made to keep the sun out and warmth in. Fashion was an ancillary concern; interior design was a pleasure afforded to the elite of society rather a mainstream interest like it is today. Think casual, not chic.
Choose organic material of white or light brown colour. Consider tying curtains with rope rather than ribbon to channel the western effect.

Armed Accessories

The Wild West hosted liberal gun laws in addition to an allowance of blades and other weapons. Dress tabletops or create a small museum of Wild West gun and knife artifacts. To take the act of accessorizing a step further, consider purchasing a dummy from a mall or online vendor, dressing it in Wild West vests, boots, lasso and other assorted duds.

It took days to get a letter to a friend in the Old West, yet today you can send a message to multiple friends in seconds using a number of social media platforms. Peruse social platforms like Pinterest to glean the ideas of others, finding where they bought accessories or using their implements to generate a different design idea.

Wanted posters featured infamous bank and train robbers and assorted outlaws of the Wild West. Consider hanging posters around the bedroom, using your computer to print search images.
Moreover, consider using photo software to transform existing pictures to appear dated and aged. To accentuate the style, find picture frames made of metal with Old West appeal.

Hat Rack

Purchase a hat rack, finding derby hats and other head toppers apropos to the time. Seek online literature featuring descriptions of period fashion as well as pictures of western commoners to pay proper respect to detail.

How many times do we have the desire to create great satisfying meals that won’t make us feel guilty or heavy after we eat it?  But due to so many demanding lives and careers, who truly has the time to get it all done?  Well this recipe is meant for those who are always on the go and want to create those easy meals for the family.  The Peppery Chicken Shawarma recipe is filled with many active ingredients that will not only satisfy your hunger but give your body the boost of energy that it needs throughout the day! With this easy meal recipe you will have the option to enjoy it in your home or on the go.  So take a look below on how to make this delicious dish!

 Peppery Chicken Shawarma Pita Pocket

Serve: 4

Ingredients

2 tablespoons of Parsley, freshly chopped
½ teaspoon of Salt
½ teaspoon of Red Pepper, crushed
¼ teaspoon of Ground Ginger
¼ teaspoon of Ground Cumin
1/8 teaspoon Ground Coriander
5 tablespoons of Greek Yogurt, original low-fat
2 tablespoons of Lemon Juice, fresh and divided
3 Cloves of Garlic, minced and divided
1 lb. of skinless boneless Chicken Breast halves, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons of Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
1 tablespoon of Tahini
4 (6-in.) Pitas, halved
½ cup of Cucumber, chopped
½ cup of Plum Tomato, chopped
¼ cup of Red Onion, pre-chopped

Directions

1)      Combine the first 6 ingredients in a large bowl and stir in 1 tbsp. of yogurt, 1 tbsp. of juice and 2 cloves of garlic.  Put in the chicken and toss it around until it is fully coated to your taste.

2)      Over a medium heat, heat the oil in a large non-stick skillet.  Once the oil has been heated enough add in the chicken mixture to the pan, sauté’, making sure to stir it consistently for 6 minutes or until it is browned and done.

3)      While the chicken cooks, combine the remaining ¼ cup of yogurt, the remaining 1 tbsp. of lemon juice, the remaining 1 clove of garlic and tahini in small bowl, stirring the combination well.

4)      Spread the 1 ½ tsp. of tahini mixture inside each pita half and dividing the chicken evenly among pita halves.  Fill each pita half with 1 tbsp. Of cucumber, 1 tbsp. of tomato and 1 ½ tsp. of onion.

Jane Gianarelli

Jane Gianarelli grew up with a creative gene and love for design and fashion. She credits her love for design to being brought up in a home that was in a constant state of being remodeled and furnished with fine furniture. With a decision to study Interior Design or Apparel Design in college Jane opted for the latter and graduated college with Bachelors of Science in Apparel Design. Throughout her career Jane has gained a wide range of business knowledge with years of managing clothing and furniture stores.

Over the past seven years as an Interior Designer Jane has developed her unique system for her designs. Her style includes mixing classic and modern elements with strong colors and patterns to create functional and unique livable spaces. In addition to Jane’s designing her creative talents lie in original hand renderings of interiors. Offering valuable design tools for other Interior Designers like herself, Jane understands how important it is for clients to understand their design with adding a personal touch.
