Supplies

  • Black and light pink paint
  • A paper plate
  • A soft brush
  • 5 liter soda container
  • White cardboard or poster board

Directions

  1. Dip the brush in the black paint and draw the branches of a cherry blossom tree.
  2. Continue painting the branches but make sure they aren’t very thick. Don’t worry if the branches are curved, they look better that way.
  3. Put the pink paint in the paper plate. If you don’t have pink paint, mix red and white paint till you get the perfect color. Use more white than red.
  4. Dip the bottom part of the soda container in the paint. Remove excess paint by shaking the bottle.
  5. Press the bottle on a branch on the cardboard. It will create a lovely cherry blossom with five petals.
  6. Repeat the process to add flowers to the other branches.
  7. Leave the paint to dry then display your artwork.

What a fun project for kids to complete. This would be perfect for anytime of the year really, maybe different trees/flowers. I’m thinking summertime crafts day!
