Summer Dessert – Milk Chocolate Banana Pudding Recipe

Ingredients

1 ounce of unsweetened chocolate (finely chopped)

½ cup of sugar

½ tsp of vanilla extract

2 cups of sweetened whipped cream

3 tbsp of cornstarch

3 cups of whole milk

3 ounces of milk chocolate (finely chopped)

12 ounces of chocolate wafer cookies (thin cookies)

6 big egg yolks

4 large bananas (peeled and sliced)

Milk chocolate shavings (for garnishing)

Directions

  1. Heat a medium saucepan and pour the milk inside. Bring to a simmer.
  2. Add both chocolates and continue heating until the mixture becomes smooth. Turn off the heat.
  3. Mix the sugar, cornstarch and egg yolks in a bowl. Beat in the chocolate-milk mixture.
  4. Put the mixture in the saucepan and cook over medium heat. Whisk until it thickens.
  5. Remove the concoction from heat and add the vanilla. Transfer to a clean bowl.
  6. Cover the bowl with a piece of plastic paper and leave the pastry cream to cool.
  7. Put about a cup of the cream into a large glass dish.
  8. Layer the bananas, cookies, and pastry cream in the bowl.
  9. Cover the dish tightly and refrigerate the pudding until it’s chilled (for 4 hours or overnight).
  10. Spread the whipped cream over the pudding and sprinkle the chocolate shavings then serve.
