Looking for hidden storage in your closet? A well-organized closet is a productive way to start a day. Imagine how much time you save getting your personal items in your closet because you have them arranged properly. Other than saving your time, you also save your mood from getting frustrated because you cannot locate a certain thing in your closet.

Organizing your closet needs as much storage as possible. You can’t just have all your items in one box. There should be divisions, shelves and drawers available. These storages will allow you to categorize everything that you need to place in your closet.

If you feel you need more storage, here are some ideas on how to find hidden storage in your reach-in closet:

Hidden Storage Trick: Move up the bars

The purpose of this idea is to have available space below for some clothes. This can maximize the space at the bottom by elevating the bars high enough for you insert the clothes for hanging. Then, pile up some clothes or accessories below. Maintain a pleasant arrangement by having it stack according to type, color or style. We love these closet organizers from the Container Store.

[ad#co-1]

Closet Organization Trick: Stack clothes higher

It will help you maximize the space if you choose to pile your clothes high. The elevation will allow you to occupy as much space as possible without leaving a space behind. But you have to make sure that you arrange your thing properly to avoid clutter as you take them away. You can have the frequently used things on top for easy access. Just like pantry storage in your kitchen when you install more shelves?

Hidden Storage Idea: Use boxes to save space

This idea is not just for your shoes but for accessories as well. Having storage boxes for these items will definitely provide better accessibility and pleasant look in your closet. Make sure to get a storage box that can fit in your closet and can be stacked or joined together.

Make the best of the available space in your closet by following these ideas.

Entry #2683, July 25, 2013

When purchasing an outfit, shoes or accessories you don’t think about the clutter that can accumulate when we take them off and toss them in your closet at home. Organization in your wardrobe closet is essential, but it’s often hard to achieve. You do not have to constantly get up and travel through your clothes just to get to the door or stumble over shoes that are on the floor within the closet just to get a jacket. So take a look below and discover some ways to help you clean-up and structure your apparel.

For the Hanging Space

When hanging your clothes you want to keep in mind that the space should have function and beauty working side by side. So in some cases dividing the long hanging spaces in a two bars (if possible) to hang shorter garments within your closet is a good idea. Not only will this help to house more clothes but it can create a versatile arrangement for the space. Also depending on the type of clothing you can change the hanger and hanger color for more mix-up variety.

Organizing your shoes and hats with hanging solutions

Image via: VT Custom Closets

[ad#co-1]

Fold the Clothes don’t Pile

Sometimes our folded clothes can become mountains of piles instead of stacks of folds. To reverse this issue keep it simple, flip over a deep shelf using the built-in brackets as dividers and separate the sweaters from the shirts, the shirts from the undershirts and so forth. Another way to add more space for your tops is to take out the bottoms, like your jeans. Take the jeans that you have separated and hang them on the wall by their belt loops with S-hooks so you can have a grab and go effect. Also roll the casual pants and place them in the slots of a shoe organizer.

Spaces for Folded Clothes

Image via: Cardigan Empire

Shoes & Boots

When you are organizing your shoes you need to have the Missouri state slogan, “Show Me.” Technically all of your shoes should be off the floor for easier access and angled shelves usually work best because they give a tilt that forces the shoes to be visible. More storage places for your shoes are with cubby holes or shelves with stackable plastic boxes. A few tips for boots are to keep them vertical (less space is use and helps them to stay in great condition) and keep them suspended in the air (use mini clip style hangers or sturdy steel over the door racks).

Organized Shoes

Image via: Shoe Club

Make Your Bags a Statement

Again this is similar to the organization of your shoes. Set up your bags as works of art. Snag the ideas from boutiques and display your bags behind glass from a revamped china cabinet or curio case so they can remain dust-free and stylish for your home. For clutches, use Lucite dividers in the closet that way they are propped up and kept looking nice.

handbag organization ideas

Image via: Purse Blog

So try some of these ideas the next time you need organization in your closet areas. Your wardrobe is one of those areas in your home that will help you get out of the house on time in the morning if it’s organized and it will keep your home feeling complete!

<nbsp>
Your closets are one of the important places in your home that you should keep clean and well-organize. This is where you have your personal items such as your clothes, accessories and other essentials. Spring is the time to put away the winter gear and thoroughly clean out the old before getting into the next season.

Cleaning your closet is easier said than done. Motivation to clean your closet is one thing but doing it effectively is another. You have to know what exactly need to be done. This is to save time and efforts in cleaning your closet. Also, following the appropriate procedure in cleaning your closet ensures better results.

Get organized this spring

Image via: Clayton & Little Architects

Here are some helpful ideas and procedure to spring clean your closets this season:

Start by removing everything

This is the best start in cleaning your closet. But do not just place them anywhere after removing. Evaluate the things you get and categorize them. You may divide them into things you intend to donate, retain, repurpose or any category you think of. This will make it easier for you to identify the things that will be kept in the closet and free some space for other essential items.

Polishing your closets clean

After you remove everything, you’re now ready to cleanly polish your closet freely. It will be very convenient because of the absence of the things in the closet. When polishing, you have to dust the shelves and wipe all the surfaces. Use the right equipment like vacuum cleaner, rug, and duster. You also have to polish the surrounding of your closet with mop or broom.

Organize and spring clean your closet this season

Image via: Lisa Adams, LA Closet Design

Organize everything

Sort all your clothes, pants, accessories and other items. This will make it pleasant to see and easy to access. It will avoid unintentional clutter due to finding items you can’t locate. You have to arrange them according to the frequency of use. It will also help if you will hang as many items as you can for orderly arrangement.

Take your time and make the most of spring cleaning your closet. There is nothing better than starting out the new spring season with organized and freshly clean closets.

Guest Blogger #841, Entry #2004, January 11, 2012

Let’s be honest, Americans like stuff. No matter how much stuff we already have that is never enough. Whether is clothes, furniture, art, whatever, for people that live in the US more is always better. Don’t believe me? Just look around your home and you will see what I’m talking about (did you really need to buy that home popcorn cart).

Get your home organized this season

Is there enough room for more items?

Despite this sad truth the reality is that even though we desire all these things, we really don’t have enough room for them. If you keep getting more and more things eventually you are going to run out of room. Think about it, is there a room in your home that is about to explode at the seams? Or maybe it’s your garage, or your attic. Wherever it is I know you have been putting off organizing it just for the fear of getting started.

Well look no further as I have found the perfect solution to all your organization problems. Renting a self-storage unit is by far the best way to clear up clutter in your home or office. They are cheap, convenient, and come in a variety of sizes that make the storage of any amount of belongings possible. And with the growth in popularity of online storage aggregators, is now super easy to find the perfect unit for you.

Even though renting a unit is an added expense, most people find that it is well worth it. Storage facilities usually charge by the month as well, so even if you only want to keep stuff in there for a few weeks while you renovate your kitchen, that’s ok.

Consider using self storage for all of your needs

Image via: Outlet Self Storage

Self storage facilities can help

They can be used to store just about anything: furniture, holiday decorations, and recreational vehicles, just about anything you can think of and just don’t have room for can be placed in a self-storage unit. There are also units available that are climate controlled in case what you’re storing needs to be kept at a specific temperature, and there are usually state-of-the-art security systems in place so you don’t have to be worried about your stuff getting stolen.

If you are in need to some extra space to get yourself organized then it’s a no brainer, using a self-storage unit is definitely the way to go.

Self Storage is a fantastically cost-effective and flexible way to rent extra space as and when you need it, with the benefit of minimum outlay and little or no long term commitment.

However, even though self storage represents great value for money in general when compared to renting or even buying premises yourself, it is still always handy to look out for Self Storage Specials which can provide even better value for money.

Use self storage for DIY projects and moving quarters

The benefits of using self storage

There are a number of special offers out there that will allow you to save further money and reap the rewards of self storage with the minimum of outlay. One of our favourites is Uncle Bob’s Self Storage that has a number of different specials to choose from, all of which represent fantastic value for money. For example, there is a special that provides the first month free. This is especially recommended for anyone who has never used self storage before and wants to test how it works for them. There are various other specials such as saving 50% on the following months rent and even a “name your price” special that allows you to tell them what you want to actually pay!

Is it time for self storage for your home or business?

Storage for home and business

These are great for people and businesses looking to use self storage as a cost-effective solution to storing extra belongings and stock, but if you are looking for something more short term, such as help with a house move, then self storage can still be handy. It’s a great way of storing excess furniture and household goods while you are in between houses and Uncle Bob’s Self Storage even has a special that provides free tuck rental with any storage rental, allowing you to ship your items around totally free of charge and benefit from well-priced storage!

So, next time you are looking for extra space, whether it be short-term or long-term, consider self storage and the benefits it can bring you and then look for the specials that will make it even more cost-effective for you. This will allow you to then use the minimum amount of space that you need and slowly expand to more space as and when you need it, or indeed slowly reduce the amount of space you rent to save even more money.

Whether you are getting ready for Autumn or you are trying to dig yourself out from summer’s end. Today’s Guest Blogger gives you tips to declutter, purge and get your Autumn home ready!

Declutter your home this Autumn

Do you feel that? It’s the cool autumnal breeze blowing in from the west. Autumn has finally arrived and it’s time for a bunch of seasonal changes to be made to our lives. Summer’s finally over and it’s time to put away all the beach, water, and outdoor gear. Wait? Where are you going to store these things? Summer has been a wildly addictive and unpredictable ride that’s lasted three months. You haven’t had time to think about where you’re going to put all your summer things. Don’t fret – we have some ways that can help you make some extra room in your home and prepare you for the upcoming fall and winter seasons. Let’s talk about the 3 main ways that you can organize your home and prepare for fall — organize, build, and cheap self storage.

Organize

Organizing your home can be one of the most dreadful tasks if you have let stuff build up for a long time. To be honest, summer can be addictive fun and sometimes we get lost in it, but that’s okay. Fall is a time for change and the first change that you’re going to make is to reorganize your home. The first rule to organization is to separate the “keep stuff” from the “junk stuff”. Warning: fight the urge to keep everything! We all find reasons to keep our stuff, but it’s time to stop this hoarding-like activity. If you haven’t used an item in a year, chunk it. Discard old bathing suits, that rusty kayak in the garage, and that slip-n-slide the kids never use. If you can’t let go of things like this, there will be no room for those new stylish interior decorations you bought specifically for autumn. Once you find the items you want to discard, put them in a worn box and ship, sell, or throw them away. There are services that can help you sell or donate your items such as Goodwill and Craigslist.

Put your summer items in storage to keep your home uncluttered

Build

If you’ve completed a full organizational sweep through your home and you still don’t have enough space, it’s time to come up with some creative ways to make more space. One way that you can do this is to build shelves into existing spaces in your home. Adding a shelf or two to the garage or in the foyer can really add some extra storage space that’s stylish. Autumn is naturally associated with warm colors like brown, dark red, and dark yellow. You can find wood and materials for your shelves that match these colors. It can make your house look great. Another way to build some more space into your home is by altering existing pieces of furniture. Maybe you wanted to add another drawer to that dresser? Perhaps, you wanted to add some extra shelves into your office desk? These are some viable options that will allow you store more things.

Cheap Self Storage

As a last resort, you can rent a cheap self-storage from a storage facility. There are many different options to choose from and they all have different features. Make sure to do your research and find out what’s

Margot

best for you. If you stick to these guidelines, preparing for the upcoming fall season will be a cinch.
