Tips for Holiday Decorating with Feng Shui

Entry #3061, December 2, 2013

Holidays are a time for friends, family and endless amounts of fun. Feng Shui can help make sure that your home is teeming with positive energy this festive season. Holiday Feng Shui is easy to implement without any special purchases like crystals or statues.

Enhance the Chi in your decor with these easy tips:

Tips for Holiday Decorating with Feng Shui

1. Choose a holiday theme:

Feng Shui is all about creating a balance in the energy around us. Start your holiday decorating by choosing a theme. This could be anything from Gold and white décor to decorating with handmade ornaments. Sort out the ornaments that blend well with your theme and put away the rest. Do not over – decorate, leave space which signifies openness to new things. Remove anything that might be damaged

2. Decorate your exterior:

Along with the interiors of your home, do not forget to decorate the exteriors. Not only is a beautiful exterior welcoming for the guests, it also signifies that you and your family are open to new opportunities. Tie large bows out of ribbons and place them on your mail box. Decorate the front door of the house with a beautiful wreath. Don’t forget the lights. Lights are an essential part of holiday decorating because they balance out the darkness of winter. Light up the entryway and make your house shine from the outside.

3. Adding green to your holiday decor

When it comes to holiday decorating, we tend to go overboard with red and gold. Although these are colors of fire in Feng Shui, too much of red can invoke a feeling of restlessness, anger and tension in the environment. When decorating with red and gold, balance out the colors with green. Green is refreshing and soothing to the eyes and a nourishing color in Feng Shui. Decorate with garlands made from healthy plants like evergreen, poinsettias and pine along with a beautiful Christmas tree.
