When I was in elementary school I use to read Architectural Digest magazine’s like they were cartoon books! The beautiful decor, and the architectural elements intrigued, and entertained me. As Stagetecture ‘grows up’, I want to start bringing in elements of design that intrigue me.
One aspect of architecture that has always held my fascination has been high rise condominiums and apartments. Reality shows these days have re-sparked my interest for how designers and architects make use of urban spaces, but still make them feel as spacious as a country home. I found this article on a 3,000 sf Manhattan apartment that was renovated to seek high energy efficiency and still keep sleek modern interiors. Take a look at these gorgeous photos, and for the full article visit Architectural Digest.
Interior Architecture and Design by Hariri & Hariri
“The architects then hooked up all the systems—heating, cooling, lighting, shades, humidity, audiovisual, computers and telephone—to a brainy computer hidden in a closet off the bar. “It became a pretty smart home.””
“The hidden truth is that the architects have delivered the quintessential image of urbanism through green technology: The clients are living in Vermont while staring at Manhattan.”
