Father’s Day Recipe: Delicious Baked Honey Chicken

Ingredients

4 servings

• 3 pounds chicken wings with wing tip removed and cut in half at joint (3 pounds)

• Wildflower or mild honey (1/2 cup)

• White vinegar (1/2 cup)

• Soy sauce (1/2 cup)

• Peeled and thinly sliced fresh ginger (2-inch piece)

• 3 cloves of crushed and peeled garlic

For Dressing

• Toasted sesame seeds (1 teaspoon)

• Chopped fresh chives (2 teaspoons)

Preparation

• Preheat the oven to 475 degrees.

• Whisk together honey, vinegar, soy sauce, ginger, and garlic in a small saucepan. At a medium-high heat, cook the mixture and stir occasionally until it is brought to simmer.

• Keep cooking for at least 30 minutes until the mixture is condensed and reduced by half.

• Sieve the mixture is a bowl. It will yield at least 2/3-cup sauce after discarding the solids.

• In the meantime, take a rimmed baking sheet and arrange the chicken wings on it in a single layer.

• Bake them for at least 35 minutes until the wings’ are cooked through and their color becomes golden.

• Pick up the wings one by one with tongs and put them on the bowl to be soaked with the sauce.

• Keep them there for minimum three minutes and flip so that they are completely coated with the sauce.

• Serve the wings with sesame seeds or chopped chives sprinkled on them.

Tips

• Instead of baking, you can also barbecue the wings and coat them with the sauce.

• If you have a sweet tooth, reduce the soy sauce and add more honey.
