Ingredients
- ⅛ tsp. of hot pepper sauce
- ¼ cup of all-purpose flour
- ½ cup of water
- ½ tsp. of salt
- ½ tsp. of celery seed
- 1 clove of garlic (minced)
- 1 pinch of black pepper (ground)
- 1 can of stewed tomatoes (with liquid)
- 1 tsp. of salt
- 1 tsp. of mustard powder
- 2 tbsp. of brown sugar
- 2 tbsp. of white vinegar (distilled)
- 2 tbsp. of Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp. of chili powder
- 3 tbsp. of butter
- 6 boneless chicken breasts (skinless)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, and black pepper. Use the mixture to coat the chicken breasts.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
- Put the chicken breasts in the skillet and cook until brown. Remove from the heat and place them on paper towels to drain.
- Cook the tomatoes, brown sugar, water, Worcestershire sauce, and vinegar in the same skillet. Add the salt, mustard, chili powder, hot pepper sauce, garlic, and celery seed. Cook the mixture until it boils then reduce the heat.
- Return the chicken breasts to the skillet. Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes or until the chicken is tender. It should no longer be pink.
- Leave to cool then serve with accompaniment.
