Country Biscuits with Warm Apple and Sausage Gravy

Ingredients

Servings: 4
4 Frozen Buttermilk Biscuits (from 25-oz bag)
2 teaspoon of Butter or Margarine
1 Medium Apple (cored, coarsely chopped- about 1 ¼ cups)
1 pound of Bulk Pork Sausage
3 tablespoons of All-Purpose Flour
2 ¼ cups of Fat-free (skim) Milk
½ teaspoon of Onion Salt
1/8 teaspoon of Coarse Ground Black Pepper
*A dash of Ground Red Pepper (Cayenne)

Directions
- Heat the ovent to 375 degrees F. Then bake the biscuits as directed on the can. Meanwhile, take out a 10-inch non-stick skillet, and melt the butter over a medium heat. Then add in the apple pieces and cook for 4 to 7 minutes being sure to stir occasionally, until crisp-tender. Then remove and cover the mixture to keep it warm.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and in the same skillet crumble the pork sausage within it; let that cook for 4 to 6 minutes being sure to stir it frequently until they are no longer pink. Then add in 1 tablespoon of the flour while stirring constantly until it is brown. Stir in the remaining flour and with a wire whisk, whisk in the milk.
- Cook for about 3 minutes stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Stir in apple pieces, onion salt and peppers. Split warm biscuits, placing 4 servings on a plat and top it off with the sausage-apple gravy and ENJOY!!!!
