A common issue after every festive celebration is how to make the most of your holiday meal leftovers. With increasing number of families who do not have food to eat, it is very important to avoid food being wasted. It will certainly save you a lot of money for food the next day.

Whether it is after a large gathering or a holiday meal such as Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving or Christmas, there are so many options to make use of our meal leftovers. Some people anticipate leftovers and consider these as benefits of the holiday celebration. You can also showcase your culinary skills by creating delicious recipes out of the meal leftovers.

The internet can provide you with lots of recipes that fit your leftovers. There are quite a number of cooking websites to choose from that offer detailed procedure in food preparation. Some websites even offer video tutorials on making the cuisine. All you need to do is to mix and match the leftovers you have with the recipes presented in the internet.

Share your blessings

Meal leftovers can be an opportunity to manifest generosity. These leftovers are those left untouched after the celebration. Make sure to wrap it properly with a foil or clean container. You probably know a family or someone who does not have much of the feast – this is the perfect time to show your concern. Package your leftovers in a beautiful dish and present with a ribbon, thoughtful note on the side or a handwritten recipe card will make the gift feel even more received!

While you may have exhausted all of your leftover meals, sometimes you just have too much food! Wait, before you toss it in the trash, how about help your furry friends? There are several leftovers that can be utilized as pet food. Most vegetables like sweet potatoes, carrots and turnips can be fed to dogs. Just make sure to feed your dogs in moderate amounts. You can also feed them with meat but make sure it does not have nitrates and preservatives. You can ask your veterinarian for further details.
