Go Pastel:
Color is a great way to build a cohesive base when decorating. Pastel colors are springy, while also being reminiscent of nurseries and the impending arrival of a little one. Consider choosing a base color like yellow or green for things like tablecloths and dishware. Then, use pops of pink or blue to reveal the gender of the baby while also adding more visual interest to the room.

Grow a Gift:
Break away from standard baby shower favors by offering your friends and family something fresh. Flowers are always a solid option. You can go big or small by leaving each guest anywhere from a single flower to a small potted plant. Or, if you like to think a bit more outside the box, give everyone an herb garden kit. If you need to stay super simple, a bag of seeds affixed with ribbon allows everyone to take the planting into their own hands.

Celebrate Seasonal Bites:
A baby shower is the perfect excuse to offer a selection of small bites. That way, everyone can eat comfortably while playing games and mingling. Start with appetizers such as deviled eggs and arugula salad. Then, for the main course offer up lamb meatballs and mini leek quiches. Go fruity for dessert with lemon bars and individual strawberry shortcakes. Finally, wash it all down with a refreshing berry punch that can be made with or without alcohol.

Play “Hatch The Chick Egg”:
No shower would be complete without a few party games and this one brings the spring season in spades. For this game, you’ll need: plastic Easter eggs and a plethora of small household items such as buttons, pocket change, hard candies, or pebbles. Fill each egg with a different item. During the party, allow guests to pass the eggs around one at a time. Have each person try to guess the contents of the eggs and write their answers on a sheet of paper. After each egg has made its way completely around the room, have the last person “hatch” the egg to reveal what’s inside. When scoring, add a point for each correct answer. At the end, give the winner a box of peep marshmallow treats.
Every party pops with the addition of a theme and a shower is no exception. In particular, spring offers a wealth of opportunities to incorporate the season into your festivities. Check out these at spring baby shower ideas to help get you started on growing your family.
