Directions
- Clean the Mason jar thoroughly inside and out and remove any stickers. Let it dry and clean the outside of the jar again with some rubbing alcohol. Let it dry completely.
- It’s already time to paint! Line your working surface with old newspapers or other protective material to avoid being left with a lot of paint stains. Paint the jar red by applying evenly a layer of red paint, letting it dry and painting a second layer. Let it aside to dry. Paint the metal lid and the metal screw band of the jar green by applying two layers of paint, too. Let it aside to dry as well. Lastly, paint the wooden top brown if needed.
- When the paint on all parts has dried, it’s time to decorate the Mason jar lid. To do that, just glue two green felt leaves and the wooden top on the lid. Let the glue dry well and you are already done with this sweet project!
Tip: For a shiny effect, use metallic spray paints.

Just add a little tag to it and it will light up anyone’s day. And if you like the result, think about making some other fun options of the jar, like pumpkins… just change the red color with pumpkin orange and paint the lid brown, add a small piece of a twig at the top and a little wire and there you have it… a pumpkin Mason jar! Perfect for pumpkin season!
