After I purchased my phone with the Walmart Family Mobile Plan I was excited to go through a month of using the Concorde and experiencing time to pay my monthly bill (which is never the fun part, right?) This was now the opportunity to see if my #cbias experience was worth it once I had used the phone and paid.

My family’s need for a cheap wireless plan
Each year in my family there are a few topics that are getting old in discussing when you have teenagers. Whether it is about eating well, studying, and saving money – these are the 3 huge themes around the Gibson household every year! My oldest college son is a Sophomore and my middle son is a Sophomore in high school. Therefore cell phones and wireless phones and services are a big deal.
It was excited to purchase my Concord phone. I found it and was delighted that I liked many of the apps and amenities that are similar to the iPhone 4.

Experiencing my Concord phone:
I’ve always been under the mindset that if you spend a lot of money you are guaranteed a good product and service, and vice versa. So I was a little skeptical to buy a $79.88 phone and still have a great touch screen interface. I was pleasantly surprised coming from my Apple iPhone 4 that the texting, apps, and web were all an enjoyable experience for a fraction of the cost of my original phone. There’s nothing better than finding an affordable phone AND lowest price rate plan.

Paying my first month’s bill:
I think we all love to have nice cell phones as we use them for everything that we do. The part that is always the clencher is paying the monthly cell phone bill. This is where my husband and hated our current carrier and plan. Between our college son, our teenage son and our two phones our cell phone monthly charges are well over $350 a month! My husband and I have upgraded plans to allow for more text messages and this alone is a lot to pay for.
Last week I got a text message on my Concord phone saying my monthly bill was due at the end of September.

- Dial 611 from your mobile phone
I was floored at the price of my phone bill for unlimited talk + text! Next month it will be $29.99 because my rate was prorated based on when I purchased my phone last month. My entire family could literally have service with Walmart’s Family Mobile for around $120 dollars a month! A savings of nearly $200 monthly x 12 = $2,400 a year! With those extra savings my college son can have money for college books and having “grocery money” and my teenager can now have a better allowance! 🙂
My husband and I were ecstatic to see how after just a month of service what savings this was going to mean for me an my family. What a great savings for family’s who live the mobile life.
