Entry #38, March 11, 2010
On Christmas Eve, 2009, my husband, three kids, and I moved from a 3600 sq. ft. house to a 2000 sq. ft. house in hopes to live near better schools, work, and capitalize on spending more time with the family. We found a charming 1987 house that has great potential, but an AWFUL kitchen! Most people would take a few months to unpack, then start renovating. Nope! Not the Gibson’s! One week later, the remodel began:

Original 1987 kitchen… yes, the paint is a color that reminds you of an upset stomach!
- Refaced cabinets
- Installed granite counter tops
- Replaced sink and fixtures
- Tile backsplash put in
- New refrigerator, dishwasher, stove
- Under counter lighting installed
- Recessed lighting in ceiling
- Dining Room light fixture replaced
10 weeks later, we can say we’re finished! Window treatments will come later.
