Contrary to belief spending money on your bathroom is not money down the toilet, pun intended. Money spent on a bathroom remodel has a national average return of 89%. Coupled with the fact that home buyers consider a bathroom a ‘significant’ consideration the importance of having a great bathroom is even more important.
Whether you are remodeling your bathroom for personal pleasure or with the intention to make it a more appealing property to market the basic bathroom design principals apply. Bathroom design trends like fashion trends change frequently, while some design trends remain evergreen new inspirations are constantly sprouting up.
Below are some ideas, tips and inspirations to help you on your way to designing the perfect bathroom.
- Go green, eco bathrooms continue to grow in demand. Consider buying a modern shower that uses energy efficient whirlpool technology. It not only protects the environment but over the long term can be a great money saver.
- Turn up the heat with heated floors. Heated floors are always a welcome additional to the bathroom and the house in general. Stepping out of the shower onto ice cold tiles is not very pleasant, although considered a luxury it is becoming more mainstream.
- You should put as much consideration into buying a bathroom mirror as you should a bath or shower. Large stylish Bathroom Cabinet Mirrors have increased in popularity due to their aesthetical appeal and commanding presence.
- Walk-in showers are very popular with new home owners, with many opting for a walk-in shower over a traditional bathroom tub. A walk-in shower is not only a great space saver but looks very classy too.
- Granite desktops continue to be the preferred counter surface among home owners due to its durability and elegant appeal. If you have a limited budget consider going for the replica granite look.
- Large frosted windows are all about bringing in natural light into what is usually a small space. This light creates a voluminous feel as well as creating a sparkle.
