Guest Blogger: How to Transform your Child’s Room with Wall Stickers

Guest Blog #192, Entry #676, September 26, 2011

You can make your home your own and have a different theme or feel in every room in the home using wall stickers.  Children in particular seem to love the wall stickers, but there are now some very grown up and ultra-stylish stickers that will please people of all ages.  Whether you have difficult teenagers, lively toddlers or are expecting a new arrival in your home, you can decorate cheaply and really alter the vibe in any room.

My new home needed some serious redecoration

I have recently spent a fortune on decorating all of the rooms in my new home.  The paint work was looking very tired and quite honestly a little grubby in some places.  So I got on my overalls and set to work.  I have no idea how many tins of paint I went through, but it was worth it, at least the walls in my new home were clean and fresh, a great blank canvas.

The only trouble I found after painting was that the house still looked bland.  It needed something to make it really stand out and make a statement.  We wanted to make our mark on our new home and add some of our personalities into the decoration to make it really feel like home. The children’s rooms in particular were not coming together as we wanted, so we started looking online for ideas.

A child’s room is the perfect place to let them be expressive

I like to encourage my children to be individuals. They each had their own room and I wanted to let them have a say in the decoration.  We all sat down together and took a look at some of the latest wall stickers that we found online.  My youngest, being a noisy four year old, was really impressed by the monster stickers that he saw.  After I told him that he could have them he began drawing pictures of how he wanted his room to look with his crayons while my other two children and I scoured the site.

My ten year old daughter is animal mad and has a soft spot for anything pink.  As I painted all the walls in our home an off white she was desperate to add some girlie colours.  She had asked me for pink walls but I was not keen on spending out on the paint only to have her going through a black phase in a few years’ time (hard to imagine now but anything is possible).  She chose two packs of stickers (a lot cheaper than tins of paint) which consisted on very sweet colourful trees and flowers and some girlie animals too.

My eldest son was a little choosier when it came to finding the right packs.  Being thirteen he was not too keen on the idea of stickers but I managed to get him to look.  Thankfully there were some very tasteful modern packs which he actually thought were ‘alright’ which is a cool way of saying he really, really wanted them! The were some silhouettes of footballers, and being an avid player and Manchester United fan he asked for just the one pack of his main feature wall.

Wall stickers are affordable and reusable and so simple to use

The prices are so affordable I managed to get all of my kids the stickers they wanted.  We all helped my youngest put his up in his room and I let the older two decided where they wanted to put theirs.  All of their rooms show their personal styles and my children and I am thrilled with the overall effect. Simple, affordable and we had a great deal of fun at the same time.

UK wall stickers are a simple way to transform any bedroom in the home. There are packs of stickers for both boys and girls of all ages available from kidswallstickers.co.uk.

Putting stickers on the walls are really fun for children for they can be able to place some things that they would like to see on their wall but, you should also have a nice painting on your wall so that it would look more lively.
