Giving your bedroom a makeover can really make those stolen moments special. If your room is a drab and dingy space with not even a hint of romance, it’s time to give it the overhaul it deserves! The nights are drawing in and winter is here, so why wait to make things cosier?
And before you start worrying about money, there’s no need to spend $3000 on a crystal chandelier or splash out on premium mink rugs. It’s all about the little things which make a big difference. Our guide is here to help you turn your bedroom into a winter wonderland!
CLEAR OUT ANY CLUTTER
If your bedroom has become a dumping ground for all kinds of junk, it’s time to roll up your sleeves and have a clear out. Trying to be intimate when there are kids’ toys lying around and boxes waiting to go into the attic is hard. Move out everything that’s taking up unnecessary space, so you don’t have to clamber over an obstacle course every time you go to bed.
PAINT THE WALLS
A fresh lick of paint is an easy way to create a romantic atmosphere, thanks to color psychology. Deep red or maroon is a sign of passion; it also helps to make your room a lot cosier, especially on a freezing winter night. If you’re looking for something brighter, lavender suggests tranquility. This can be useful if you’ve had an argument: instead of falling asleep in a bad mood, it might encourage some peace-making pillow talk!
STOCK UP ON PILLOWS AND CUSHIONS
Spread some extra pillows and cushions around the bed for a bit of rough and tumble. You don’t need to break the bank to find some comfortable ones which look a million dollars. That’ll make things more sensual, especially if you don’t have a very good mattress.
BUY SOME THROWS
Winter blankets are a great way to get warm without having to sleep under a thick duvet. They add a touch of style to your room as well!
BUY A BLIND
A new blind can add a splash of style to your bedroom and make things more intimate, especially when the weather is horrible. A Roman blind is the best option if you want a striking pattern to liven things up.
LIGHT CANDLES
A few scented candles will help you de-stress after a long day, and get you in the mood to make love rather than count sheep. Jasmine and lavender are two fragrances which work well together. Putting the candles in wrought iron holders will add a touch of class!
We hope that you’ve enjoyed our guide to a winter bedroom makeover. Hopefully, you can’t wait to give your room the facelift it deserves!
