It doesn’t have to be a fancy store bought treat bag. Just make your own easy bags to add a personal touch to this wonderful celebration. Mummy Treat Boxes

All you need for this easy Halloween Craft is:

• cardboard tubes, clean cans or plastic bottles with their tops cut off. Trim to desired height
• round cardboard pieces as bases
• gauze or light, white fabric teared into strips
• googly eyes
• glue
• white paint (optional)

If you want, you can paint the box you chose white on the outside and even on the inside. To make them, glue on the googly eyes, aiming at the top third of your box. Next wrap gauze or fabric around the tube. Leave the eyes unwrapped. Use glue to secure the gauze or fabric. If you are using tubes, glue a cardstock base on the bottom, so the candy won’t fall out. You can use cellophane bags to put the candy in and then put the bag into your mummy box.

Monster Snack Boxes

With a little imagination and some basic supplies, you can turn a snack cup into monsters! All you need are:

• Snack cups
• Green acrylic paint
• Self-adhesive vinyl (white and black)
• Adhesive dots
• Peanut butter cups

To make them, remove the lid. If you want to fill them with other content, remove the silver liner and the content. Paint the cup with two coats of paint. Make sure to let the paint dry each time. Use the vinyl to make the hair, by cutting it into points on the bottom edge. Attach the hair. Cut out two circles of white vinyl and two smaller circles of black vinyl for the eyes. Attach the eyes. Cut thin strips from black vinyl to make the mouth. Attach the mouth as well. Finally, use the adhesive dots to attach a peanut butter cup on the two sides to look like neck bolts.

Egg skull treat boxes

Another fun and easy idea is to make some egg skull treat boxes. All you need to make them are:

• Plastic egg boxes
• Black crepe paper, black cardboard or black paint pen
• White acrylic paint
• Foam brush
• Glue stick

To make this straight forward craft, first paint both halves with paint using the brush and let it dry completely. You can paint the inside, too, if necessary. Next, cut out eyes, mouth and nose out of cardboard or paper. Alternatively, use a black paint pen to draw on features. With the glue stick, attach all features to the front of the egg, making sure you use the narrow end as the chin. Fill with candy and close the egg.

Witch’s brooms treat bags

Another fun idea is to craft some witch’s broom treat bags using plain paper bags. Here is what you will need for one broom:

• Two brown paper bags
• Scissors
• Small branch
• Ribbon

To make the broom, unfold one of the bags and push its base out, while folding in the sides. Take the scissors and cut the bag into thin strips to the base, but not all the way through. Take the second bag and cut thin strips into the top inch. Open the bags and place the second bag into the first one. Now it’s time to add the candy. When done, insert the branch and cinch the tops of both bags. Use ribbon to secure. Ready!
