Color is an intrinsic part of life. Without color, everything would be monotonous and dull. Today we talk about ways to bring in color to the heart and hearth of a house. Come lets explore some kitchen ideas that will sprinkle your home kitchen with color, interest and life.

Color With Wallpaper
The exposed wall surface in a kitchen is usually less as most of the space is taken by cabinets and drawers. If the rest of your kitchen is white or another neutral shade, then you can use little wall space to bring in color. Since the effective area for wallpapering will be less, so will be your costs.

Bright Backsplash
A bright backsplash is more than enough to bring in life to a rather dull kitchen. These days the market is flooded with beautiful backsplash options but I would put my bet on gloss finished backsplash tiles. Not only these tiles are very easy to clean but they also add a touch of elegance and class apart from infusing in a spurt of color. Another one effective of kitchen ideas, is to display your colorful crockery on open kitchen shelves. You will get a kitchen full of playful colors and hues.

Playful Cabinetry
If you would adopt a rather bold approach my suggestion would be to experiment with cabinets and drawers. With the other decor aspects kept neutral you can chose colorful laminates to adorn your kitchen cabinetry. If a single color sounds boring you can work with similar family colors, contrasts or even printed laminates.

Experiment With Contrast
A kitchen that exhibits contrast in fact executes color infusion in a very nice way. And the good news is that you can work as efficiently with bold colors as you can with lighter tones. You can choose a color for your walls and another one for accent items. I would suggest using darker tones of turquoise with coral reds and likes for best effects.

Expose That Brick
If you have the opportunity to expose the brickwork in your kitchen you must do so. The beautiful rust red of bricks alone brings enough color and life to your kitchen. Also you will end up getting a nice warm rustic feel in your kitchen.

Bring In Some Art
Artwork is another way to brighten up your kitchen. You can use artwork in various forms. You can use handcrafted tiles on the kitchen backsplash, bring in some interesting lighting elements and lamp shades, display rich chinaware on walls, bring in a nice piece of clock, hang beautiful paintings or even display your child’s artwork interestingly.
