Make Centerpiece with Seasonal Harvest
During this time, a variety of fruits, flowers, and vegetables are available. Make one or two centerpieces with the harvest of this time. Tomatoes are available during this time of the season, especially in relatively warmer areas. Fill a bowl with red, plum tomatoes and put fresh flowers between them. Finally, spread some green leaves or sprigs and you are done with making a very refreshing centerpiece! You can use cauliflowers of different sizes and colors instead of tomatoes.

Use the Seasonal Flowers
Some bright and colorful flowers bloom during this season. Without these flowers, your Labor Day decorations will remain incomplete. Some end of the season flowers like daisies, sunflowers, carnations, and others are available this time. Instead of arranging them on a big vase, you can use tiny cups filled with 2-3 types of flowers. Group them together on a serving dish and it will make a very nice centerpiece. You can place the flower vases practically anywhere of your home – on the dining table, corner of the leaving room, on the kitchen island, or over the bathroom sink. Small flower garlands grouped together with small white lights can brighten up the edge of your porch and patio.

Painting, Fabric, & Paper for the Festive Spirit
Painting a few furniture pieces will also help bringing the festive spirit inside your home. Paint a few tables and chairs with stripes of red, white, and blue. If painting is not an option, use fabric and paper to cover that up. Use patriotic themed covers for pillows, upholsteries for chairs, and runners for dining tables. If you have small tin cups or cans, wrap them up with printed papers and use them as mini vases. Use the paper to make festoons and decorate the fence around your home. Wrap up the keg or ice bucket too with stripes, stars, and colorful paper to bring a truly ‘wow’ effect.

As the holiday practically stands between summer and fall, it is a great occasion to play with the themes of both the seasons. You have to keep in mind that Labor Day is a warm and patriotic occasion. So, instead of overwhelming with red, blue, and white colors, bring the festivity in a more subtle way.
