Entry #68, April 16, 2010
It has been a long time since I enjoyed sitting outdoors on a spring night. Listening to kids play, and feeling the wind whistle through the trees. (Good visual, huh?) My son went out on our screened porch the other night and just sat in the freshness of the night. Since we moved into our new home we still need.. stuff! Porch furniture is one of them. So as I daydream as to what my porch will be one day… come and dream with me.
So I said swing right? How about a daybed that’s a swing? Remember my post on daybeds? I’m in heaven!
I’m officially hooked on the Pottery Barn swinging daybed. End of conversation.
Tips: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions when mounting swings. The home structure that it suspends from needs to be secure, and capable of holding a large load in one area. Additionally, the proper hanging hardware should be included, make sure for you and your family’s safety.

Porch swings are an amazing, relaxing get away. I just bought one from http://www.woodyardswing.com and my wife and I love it. Now in the summer we can sit on it during the day or night and just relax. We bought our Wood Yard Swing at 33% off and received free shipping too. The swing we got is great quality and will last quite a while and we got it at a great price!

What keeps the cushions from mildewing after getting wet from a rain? This is my biggest concern as I search for the perfect Porch Swing!

Hi Vicki,
Most outdoor cushions are made from material that allows the moisture to pass through without it mildewing. Unlike an indoor cushion – most outdoor cushions have tiny holes that allow it to air out. 🙂
