Simple Ways to Find More Space in your Home

Entry #1353, June 30, 2012

A home is never complete without being cluttered once in a while.  While it may be a fact of life, it doesn’t mean that living in a cluttered home is necessary. Whether your home is cluttered due to cooking, entertaining, your kids playing or just a normal household life, there are ways to overcome the clutter. But the real challenge is how to easily and effectively organize your belongings at home.

Here are easy and effective solutions to get rid of cluttered home:

Choose multifunctional furniture

There are wide arrays of multifunctional furniture designs you can choose from. The capability of your furniture to cater different functions can effectively organize your things in single furniture. For instance, an antique trunk that also serves as a coffee table or the Bibliochaise that is designed as chair and at the same time a bookshelf in one. This provides easy access to your things. It allows you to arrange your things in no time.

Have adjustable drawers

You don’t have to buy a new set of furniture to have adjustable drawers inside. You can refurbish your existing drawers with adjustable partitions so you can separate your things accordingly. Feel free to label each partition for greater accessibility and utilization.

Maximize your window area

This doesn’t mean you cover your window area with shelves. You only get a small part of the window to display your porcelain or any collection you have at home. As a result, you are not only organizing your things but added an excellent decoration in your home. Your collections will create a marvelous illumination coming from the natural light outside coming into the window. You can mix and match your collections on a regular basis.

Install door racks

Consider installing door racks to maximize space in your kitchen. Whether you choose over a pantry door or even inside of your cabinets, place cooking ingredients, condiments and other kitchen essentials that can fit your rack. Placing your kitchen supplies and materials in a door rack will free up space and keep your kitchen from being cluttered.

A neat and clean home will certainly provide a relaxing mood and refreshing ambiance for enjoyment in your home, and will help you find items quickly and effortlessly!

The organizing post will always get my attention, mainly, because I always look for ways to hide, well, remove clutter, however the effort appears to be not enough. I love the window shelving, but most of all, I love that window. Thanks for sharing, Ronique.
