Apple season is in full swing, so we thought why not share a recipe that can turn your harvest into delicious seasonal snacks. Usually prepared for bonfire night, these nutty caramel apples also work great for Halloween and kids parties throughout the year. This Nutty Caramel Apple recipe is quick and easy to make.
Halloween Favorite: Nutty Caramel Apples

Total time: 5 minutes for preparation + 10 minutes for cooking
Yields: 6 servings
Ingredients:
6 dessert apples
6 wooden ice lolly sticks
350g granulated sugar
5og finely chopped nuts
Vegetable oil or butter for greasing

Procedure:
1. Grease a baking sheet and push a lolly stick halfway into each apple.
2. In a medium sized pan, melt granulated sugar over medium heat. Gently swirl the sugar around the pan as it begins to melt.
3. Once the sugar has melted, carefully pour in the nuts and mix. Remove the pan from heat.
4. Dip the apples into the mixture one at a time. Turn them to ensure proper coating. Allow them to cool for few minutes on the baking sheet.
5. Transfer to a tray and serve.
Tip: Do not stir the sugar when it cooks as it can crystallize.
