Creative Ways to Bring Spring Florals into Your Home Decor

The colder weather is behind us and spring flowers and floral decor accents are everywhere. Bringing spring into your home can happen any time of year when you use floral accents, furnishings, textiles and motifs. Floral decor comes in many styles – contemporary, modern, traditional, eclectic and even bold flowers are all inspiring for your home. The good news is that you can use floral decor throughout the year, it’s not meant for springtime alone. When decorating with flowers, keep these tips in mind.

Use Simple Spring Florals Prints That Don’t Overwhelm Rooms

Simple floral designs will beautifully transform a room without overpowering it. They are ideal for those not too keen on experimenting with unusual design ideas. A black and white floral print in a bedroom provides a relaxing environment. To prevent items from overwhelming rooms, use large florals a few times and refrain from using small florals numerous times. On small objects such as throw pillows, use one large floral design or small spring florals distributed appropriately in your spring home decorating.

Decorate with Spring Florals Wallpaper in Dull Rooms

Floral décor invigorates any space and your workspace is no exception. Install floral wallpaper on your home office desk and cover it with customized glass. Additionally, use it to renew the rooms in your house. Multicolored wallpaper is a visual stimulant and provides a base from which to obtain complementary colors for the rest of the room.

Install floral wallpaper on a wall then carefully cut it out in a pattern and place photos inside. It will highlight the photos, making them stand out. Instead of painting your children’s rooms, consider wallpapering with designs they can grow up with. It is crucial to consider the room size and wallpaper scale when selecting floral wallpaper. Choose personalized color palettes and experiment with large prints for a modern outcome.

Mix Small and Large Floral Prints in the Same Room

In a single room, florals can be used on rugs, a settee, and cushions. The end result is determined by your preferred colors, sized of prints, and the style. When decorating with flowers, even out dark colored prints with lighter ones. For a great look, pair florals with existing accent colors.

The scale of floral patterns or prints affects your mood so it’s best to choose them wisely. Select a mixture of small, medium and large prints and use them alternatively in your home to obtain balance. Geometric patterns can be alternated with floral prints, giving an exceptional look.  Varying textures of flower designs can be included to make your spring interior decorating exciting. Tone Down Spring Florals Decor with Neutral Colors

When decorating with flowers or floral patterns and motifs, place items with flower prints against plain items to avoid a congested feeling. Floral cushions placed on a white settee or flowery napkins on a wood table complement each other beautifully. You can also pick one prominent floral color and match it to coordinated yet muted or neutral colored decor surrounding it.

Curtains with blue flowers can be complemented by a plain blue sofa or with a neutral gray or tan sofa. To decide which items will be plain and which ones will have floral decorations, choose a focal point. Finally, decide where to place each flower piece to attain a unified look.

Use Spring Florals on A Variety of Furnishings

Floral home décor looks good on any furnishing – from bedroom dressers and nightstands to sofas and dining chairs. But the important thing to remember is, florals should be used in moderation. It’s also best to use flower designs in the same color category. Use floral decor on not more than 3 areas in one room. To keep sofas or chairs from looking unappealing, decorate their upper part with flowers and leave the lower part plain or vice versa. A coffee table can be wallpapered with floral wallpaper to enhance its beauty. These cottage bedrooms make a good use of mixing florals and patterns throughout the room.

Floral home décor doesn’t have to be monotonous. A combination of different scales, textures, prints, and colors can give your home a remarkable transformation.

Thanks Ronique for your guidelines. I have almost completed the floral decoration in my house for wedding ceremony. But will definitely follow your guidelines and crosscheck whether everything is perfect.
