Preparation
- Take four bowls and melt each packet of gelatin separately in one cup of boiling water in each bowl. Add half cup of cold water to each of the mixtures and stir.
- Use cooking spray to coat a 10-inch fluted tube pan and transfer one bowl of berry blue gelatin into it. Chill for half an hour or until the mixture is almost set.
- Unlike the first bowl, set the remaining 3 bowls at room temperature. Use the remaining cold water to soften the unflavored gelatin and keep it in that condition for 5 minutes.
- Take a saucepan and heat milk just below the boiling point over medium heat. Stir in sugar and softened gelatin in it until the sugar is completely melted. Stop the heat.
- Now, stir in vanilla extract and sour cream until the mixture is very smooth. Spoon one and a half cups of sour cream mixture carefully over the berry blue gelatin when it is almost set in the pan. Chill for half an hour or almost set.
- Put the strawberry gelatin over the layer of cream mix very carefully with a spoon. Chill until the layer is almost set. Now, put one and a half cups of cream mixture over the layer of strawberry gelatin with a spoon. Chill until this layer is almost set.
- Do this the process again by adding layers of berry blue gelatin, sour cream mix, and strawberry gelatin one after another. Do not forget to chill after adding each layer.
- After all the layers are set, chill the gelatin salad for hours or throughout the night.
Tips
- You must properly chill after each layer is added because a layer must be set before the addition of an extra layer.
- You can use gelatins of different flavors if you want.
- You can put a mixture of fresh fruits or sweet-flaked coconut in the middle.
