Independence Day for India is August 15, 2013 and is the time to celebrate the country’s birth. One of the best ways to take part in the festivities is by decorating your homes in tricolors. However, it can be much more than just hanging an Indian flag outside your house. Use these fun and patriotic décor tips to spruce up your home without making too many permanent changes.

Go green
Green is one of the most important colors of the Indian flag. The best way to incorporate it into your house is by bringing in the nature. Pick up some potted plants and place them in a way to get the flag like effect. You can also get some terracotta pots for planting and paint them in fun 15th of August theme. White and orange stripes with navy blue touches or simply orange, white, and green stripes will look great.

Changing your entire upholstery can get really expensive for a day. However, you can always accessorize your home. Bed sheets, cushion covers, and curtains are the easiest way to update the look and feel of your home. But, do not change all the accessories into one color. Instead, use a combination of orange, white, and green to create a charming effect that will completely sync with your celebrations.
