Chalkboards for organization, or are they played out?

A few years ago when chalkboard paint came out it seemed like black was the only color. As time went on, different colors, and finishes have become more popular. Even Martha Stewart shows us how to make our own chalkboard paint colors to personalize our space.

A Freshome article had a good question, “Are they creative or messy?” I can say both. I love the creative side of having kids draw on the walls in a playroom, or have a great “To-Do” list on a kitchen wall.  Then the allergy-sufferer in me says – It’s messy! Between sneezing, and the board never looks clean…. ummmm.. quite a question.  What do you think?
