Here are some great headboard examples.
Vintage Style
If you want your headboard to be classical, add a feed-sack-covering to your existing board. This type provides a wide fabric that can even cover a twin-sized bed. To do this, have your plywood ready and staple two layers of batting in front. Attach the feed sack over the batting. As you staple the center of the feed sack, pull the fabric tightly until you reach the corners. To highlight its vintage look, nail customary wood carvings on top of the headboard. Paint it with maple or beige for a better finish.

Storage Type
This is a great idea for those who do not have the luxury of room space. Using your old dresser furniture, remove its doors and retain the partitions. You may apply sand paper to even up the surface of your dresser furniture turned headboard. Screw or attach your storage headboard in line with your bed. You can now place your books, decors, files and other essentials on your storage headboard. Make sure that your things are properly arranged and filed so it won’t drop while you are asleep.
Framed Fabric
If you want a quick and easy yet fashionable, try having a framed fabric headboard for your bed. You can play along with your chosen style, color and texture of fabric you want to acquire. This type is also very easy to customize and configure on a regular basis. To do this, create the frame using the dimension you want for your headboard. Cover you frame with heavy cardboard and then stretch out the fiber of your choice. Secure the fiber at the back of the frame using wire staple. Spray your frame with appropriate paint color to match your fiber design.
