Supplies You Will Need
A bowl
A cookie sheet
½ cup of pea gravel
½ cup of flour
¼ cup of salt
¼ cup of water
Acrylic or clear coat sealer (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 250 degrees F.
- In a big bowl, mix the salt, water, and flour. If you find that the dough is too sticky, add some flour gradually until it becomes thick and flexible. However, take care not to add too much flour because the dough will become too dry and your craft will crack.
- Using your hands, shape the dough into a ball. Place it on the cookie sheet and press it until it becomes flat. It should be about ½ inch thick.
- Arrange the pieces of pea gravel on the dough to spell out “DAD ROCKS”. Push them gently into the dough till they become fully embedded.
- Bake the dough for 2 or 2.5 hours. Make sure it is completely dry before you remove it from the oven.
- Turn off the oven and allow the dough to cool.
- Paint your craft with the clear coat sealer or spray it with the acrylic sealer.
