Martha Stewart has brought a nice idea to make a special gift for your cooking-loving Dad. Obviously, you can present him a cookbook but a collection of attractive carafes will probably be the best gift for a Dad who cooks. All you need to do is just joining corks with drawer pulls made of cast metal, painted porcelain, or faceted glass. They will make nice stoppers for bottles of oils and extracts.

How to Make
- Buy cork stoppers from craft stores. You can use any drawer pull to make the stoppers and it will be better if they look decorative and attractive. However, if you have any nice drawer pull with a missing bolt, don’t worry. Your local hardware store will have bolts that fit to the pulls.
- Use a pencil to mark the middle of the corks’ top surface. Apply glue on the bottom of a screw and twist it into the marked point of the cork.
- Depending on the various types of screws and the type of pull, either the inserted screw will be threaded through the pull first or left enough of it exposed to be passed through the pull.
- Using drawer pulls of various styles and colors will look nice when they will be gathered together as the stoppers of a collection of bottles containing cooking ingredients.

Do not discard the attractive liquor or olive oil bottles that are available with a twist-off top or do not throw away the decanter separated from its stopper. You can use all of them for making something nice – some attractive and decorative stoppers. If your Dad is a cook, loves to cook, or wants to become an iron chef someday, give him a collection of bottles screwed with these homemade stoppers as a Fathers Day gift.
