Fresh Ways to Hang Wall Art in Your Home

Entry #3223, January 29, 2014

Wall art can transform your home from dull and boring into stylish and elegant. It can be hanged in any room for a quick update. It makes a big visual impact and can be carried out even with a small budget. If you are wondering how to hang wall art, here are a few suggestions.

Fresh Ways to Hang Wall Art in Your Home

Display Wall Art in a Grid

You can build an art wall by hanging your artwork in a grid. If you have artwork from the same artist or with a similar theme and color, group it together for a striking effect. Artwork looks more stunning when hung in multiples.

Hang Wall Art against a Dramatic Backdrop

For a rich and luxurious look, place your wall art against a stunning backdrop. You can paint the wall a striking color or use beautiful wallpaper or fabric. Choose wall treatments that layer on the art and complement each other. A wall that contrasts with the artwork can beautifully highlight your treasured objects.

Use Assorted Frames

To display your beautiful art, get an assortment of frames. Paint them the same color to give them a makeover then hang them in a gallery. You can also hang them with frames touching horizontally. Start out with the large pieces and hang the smaller ones around the corner. Corners can be difficult places to fill so it is better to hang smaller pieces.

Hang Wall Art above the Sofa

Most people tend to hang wall art too high. When hanging art, make sure the image’s center is at eye level. Hang it lower in the living room as people usually sit there. Check to make sure that the art is in scale. Avoid pieces that are too large or small as they make the entire arrangement look uncoordinated. The art you hang above the sofa should cover at least ⅔ of its size.

Wall art is a perfect way of adding interest to a room. However, arranging it can be a difficult task. Use the above tips to hang your wall art beautifully around your home. It will transform the place into a stunning gallery.
