It’s getting to that time of the year again. The nights are drawing in and the weather starts to deteriorate. We retreat to our homes to hibernate and wake up in the Spring (we wish!). Enhancing our homes within this period commonly gains significance in our ‘to do’ list. This task may fill you with a sense of adventure or fill you with the dread. With the rise in popularity of mobiles and tablets over the last couple of years, there are a number of home interior apps which can give you inspiration and help with everyday DIY tasks. I’ve put together a list of 5 useful interior design apps to help with your decorating projects over the past couple of months.
Do you have any app recommendations? Please feel free to suggest these in the comments.
Real Colours Pro
If you’re looking for that perfect colour scheme this app is for you. It allows you to be inspired by nature – simply upload a photo to the app and it will automatically create a harmonious colour scheme for you. Once you have created a suitable colour palette, it can be saved and even shared amongst family and friends.
Available in the Android Play Store
Paint Tester Pro
The pain of painting a room only to find out it isn’t correct is difficult to recover from. Save your pain by creating a preview before any paint is even applied. Simply upload a photo of your room then use the paint bucket tool to try different colours within a matter of seconds.
Available on iTunes
Mark on Call
This app allows you to plan your interior with a classic ‘top down’ view. Drag and drop items to create the perfect layout – creating space and function. New layouts can be trialled without the stress of moving everything about!
Available on iTunes
iHandy Level
This is the classic DIY tool, now in digital form. If you’re adding a frame to your wall you can simply use this app to ensure it is level. In today’s world the chances are that your phone will be closer to you than a traditional spirit level!
Available on iTunes (alternatives available in the Android Play Store)
IKEA Catalogue
This app provides a digital version of the popular IKEA catalogue on your phone, providing inspiration and products in your pocket. With this app you can now scan selected products in the printed brochure to unlock extra content such as videos, images and 3D models.
