Guest Blogger: 5 Unique Bathtubs We All Wish We could Afford!

Guest Blog #156, Entry #630, August 26, 2011

The bathroom, is one of those rooms in your home that you want to feel total relaxation, peace, and of course… pampering! Luxury bathtubs have become a trend in many posh homes, and today’s Guest Blogger shows you a few that we all wish we could afford!

There’s no denying we all like to splash out on something extravagant for our homes every now and then though the bathroom can easily be overlooked in favor of a room where you spend more time. As the centerpiece, or at least the largest piece of any bathroom, the bath could well be the place that ends up being where attention is focused for better or worse. To that end I have devised a list of beautiful baths that could not help but impress your guests should you be able to afford them.

The Milo by Gruppo Treesse

The Milo, available with black, white or red leather finish, is constructed from laminated safety glass and thus is completely transparent on all four sides. Although appearing very angular from the outside, it does have two internal seats to go with its headrests on either side.

Pure White Crystal Tub by Baldi

Baldi, a company known for its more unusual designs, crafted two unique pure white crystal bath tubs from a single chunk of rock quarried in Brazil. The first was bought by a Russian magnate, while the second was proudly put on show at Harrods in 2010. This beauty will only set you back about £530,000.

The Swarovski Crystal Tub by Teuco

Using slightly less crystal, the Teuco Swarovski Crystal bath tub, designed in conjunction with Fiona Winter, features cascades of crystals arranged to look as if they are growing organically along the edges of the tub.
Due to its individual style, these tubs were made to order, with no two looking alike.

The Alpha Jacuzzi by Metamorphosis

The Metamorphosis Alpha Jacuzzi bath was named by Forbes as one of the picks of the rich and famous, and with good reason. Built for two people, this bath includes massage, ambient lighting and hi-fi radio systems, ensuring you have the most relaxing bathing experience that money can buy. It was priced at $22,000 in 2005.

The Shoe Bath by SICIS

Perhaps saving the oddest for last, Italian designers SICIS created elaborate, mosaic-covered tub in the shape of a high heeled shoe.
With 2009 prices of up to £17,000, these original designs feature a water jet at the heel end specifically designed for hair washing.

If you not only feel the bathroom is worth the attention (which I do) but can also afford them (which I can’t) I hope that I have given some idea as to what you would choose when picking that special bathroom centerpiece.
