Winter can be a long, gray season. Don’t let the cold weather outside dull the inside of your home – after all, with the colder weather, chances are you’ll be spending more time indoors. Read the following tips to brighten up your home for wintertime:
Spruce up your windows.
Looking out the window this winter can be dreary, but your windows shouldn’t be. Dress up your windows with bold, patterned window coverings. To help make a room appear taller, hang your drapery at the top of the wall instead of at the top of the window.

Add plants to your home.
Although everything outside may be dead, your windowsills should be full of life all year long with plants. Good for the air and easy on the eyes, plants add dimension to your home. Check with your local nursery to find out what plants will thrive in your living conditions.
Brighten your walls.
A fresh coat of paint on the walls will brighten up a room instantly. Sometimes new paint is all you need to refresh a room and improve the overall mood of the room. If painting is too big of a task right now, add artwork or other bright accessories to liven up the space.
Turn your bathroom into a spa.
We spend most of our personal time in the bathroom, so this room should feel like a sanctuary in every season. Hang a bright, patterned shower curtain Using a new material and design for your shower curtain can transform the room alone. Adding candles and different kinds of soaps will improve the smells and sight of your bathroom and give you more incentive to use everything in the room.
