Another way to save water is to turn the tap off when you’re brushing your teeth, or even while you soap up in the shower. Or alternatively, using rainwater harvesters to capture rain water to wash your clothes or wash the car.

4. Grow your own herbs, fruits, and vegetables. Not only is this great for the environment but it will allow you to become more self-sufficient.

5. Teach the entire household about the importance of being eco-conscious. Before long it will become habit. This is a great lesson for young kids to learn; they will be able to create their own eco-friendly household one day.

Not only will running an eco-friendly home help the environment and reduce the amount of resources you use, but you’ll also be saving money on your bills. It’s a win-win situation!
