Before you know it, it will be time to pull out those shovels, snow blowers, and bags of rock salt to fight off winters bombarding snowfall. Even if you live in a climate that doesn’t get much snowfall, cooler fall weather can still be the perfect cue to do a little garage revamping.

Whether you have already started decluttering your garage or you need tips from www.discount-garage there is tips for you. Here are some tips to de-clutter and organize your garage before the impending cool weather:

Say goodbye to summer:

The first step is to organize and properly put away all your summer items that will be of no use to you during the winter months. Bicycles, inflatable pools & floaters, lawn mowers, yard rakes etc… these all need to be cleaned off and put away. Large plastic storage bins can work well to organize most items. Rakes and other awkward, larger tools can be stored up high on wall anchors, clearing floor space for more immediate storage needs.

Service your tools:

Before storing your lawnmower and weed trimmers into the background of your garage, be sure to service them by changing the old oil, sharpening the blades, cleaning them of any debris and grass clippings etc… overall, do anything that gets them ready to sit unused for many months, and preferably makes it easy to power them up come spring.

Make your garage your go-to space:

Now that your garage is cleaned up an organized, consider turning it into a cozy fall/winter retreat. Why not add an electric fireplace, a few comfortable chairs and even a TV, turning your garage into another room in your home. You could even use this extra space for outdoor fall entertaining; open up the garage door, lay out a carpet, add table and chairs, a buffet for food and Voila! You have a fall retreat that is perfect for entertaining.

So, just think outside the box when it comes to transforming your garage for those chilly fall and winter months. Clean it up, organize it, and then let your imagination be your guide. Just don’t forget to make room for all those much-needed shovels and snow tools!
