Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Heat the butter and brown sugar together in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally until all the sugar dissolves.
- Once it boils, bring the heat down to medium and let the mixture cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until it becomes lightly golden brown.
- Arrange pretzels in a single layer on a baking sheet that’s been lined with foil.
- Pour the hot caramel over the pretzels. Transfer the baking sheet into the oven for 5 minutes.
- Take the baking sheet out of the oven and immediately top with the chocolate chips. Allow the chips to set for 1-2 minutes or until they melt into the caramel.
- Use a knife to spread the melted chocolate evenly across the whole pan.
- Top the melted chocolate with your chopped candies.
- Drizzle melted white chocolate over the bark.
- Transfer the baking sheet into the freezer for 30 minutes or until it hardens completely.
- Break the toffee into pieces before serving.
What’s better than an indulgent Halloween dessert? One that you can tweak to fit your family’s tastes, of course. The recipe above is a chocolate lover’s dream, but if you aren’t a fan, feel free to make a white chocolate version that’s been filled with your favorite gummy candies. If you’re a baker and have cookies on hand, a few of those would fit in just fine too. Be careful, though, because once you load this dish up with your favorite ingredients, you won’t be able to stop reaching for another bite.
