Bird-themed Scary Entry
If you are thinking of a bird-themed entry, make it scarier with a whole flock of them. Gather a collection of faux bats, owls, and ravens and arrange them on your roof line, deck railing, porch banister, and fence. Keep them attached on their spot with duct tape and wire.
A colony of bats animating your yard will also be spooky enough to scare your guests. Take a black foam-core board and cut out bat-patterned figures. Make two holes into each bat for wire ties to hold it onto a branch. Decorate an artificial tree in your yard with these bats.
Halloween Doormat Idea
You do not need to buy expensive Halloween doormats for your entryway. Buy a simple welcome doormat and make it creepy by using a bit of your imaginative skill. Take a pair of striped stockings and cut their legs. Stuff cotton batting into the legs, add a pair of witch-like shoes, and glue them underneath the mat.
Another trick to terrorize your guests is to make a snake-themed doormat. Spray paint some rubber snake, arrange them at the edge of a plastic-foam board, and set it underneath the doormat. The slithering mass of serpents will likely to startle your guests with horror.

The front door definitely needs a Halloween treatment and what can be more perfect than a spooky wreath? You can make an eerie wreath of eyeballs or snakes. Take a spiderweb-like frame and attach plastic eyeballs or snakes to it with wire or hot glue.

Ghoulish Halloween Yard
Give your yard a ghostly treatment by decorating with some crazy, spooky pieces like zombie pumpkins, mummy statues, or spiderweb trees. Take some white, pale pumpkins, plastic eyeballs, a miniature saw, and some pins or thumbtacks. For the eyes, cut two holes into each pumpkin with the saw and wedge the eyeballs into the holes. Use thumbtacks to pin down zombie mouth templates on the pumpkins. Arrange them on the yard as you like.
Make a small tree into a scary spider nest. Take some straggly, white web-like materials and tie them around the branches. Use some of the materials to make some small white balls. Attach those balls along with some plastic spiders into the tree.
