How to Incorporate Modern Kitchen Details in your Design

The kitchen is an important area of one’s home to consider when decorating or re-designing as it is a place we spend a lot of our time in to prepare meals, entertain friends and family, or even eating meals. Not only should your kitchen be functional but it should reflect your own sense of style and welcome you to want to spend time there. If you are looking for some ways to modernize your kitchen consider some of these modern kitchen design ideas.

Monochromatic Color Scheme

If you are going for a very sleek and modern look for your kitchen, consider a monochromatic color scheme. Using white on white or black on black really gives you an edgy look in the kitchen. Taking this simple approach can make a big statement through use of minimal colors and create the modern style you are striving for.

Warm Hardware

One of the best ways to update and modernize your kitchen is through hardware such as faucets or handles. Changing out your hardware is a fairly inexpensive way to update your kitchen space and an opportunity to change up the style in a simple way. Brass and copper are really trending in the finish market for the kitchen and bring in a warm and inviting color palette to your space.

Take your Tile to the Ceiling

Another modern kitchen idea is to continue your backsplash tile all the way up to your ceiling instead of ending it short at the bottom of the top cabinets. By taking the tile up to the ceiling, you are creating a visual to draw your eye up from counter to ceiling for your space making the room feel larger. By choosing this method to bring in a modern look for your kitchen space, it creates a finished and clean style.

Simple Artwork and Accessories

Finally, if you are looking for something that is easily interchangeable and budget friendly, adding simplistic artwork or accessories to your kitchen can bring in warmth and a modern twist. Some ideas for accessories are branches from outside that you can place in clear glass vases or if you prefer, any type of nature such as flowers or fall leaves would make a great accessory to your kitchen and make the space that more inviting.

Your kitchen should be a space that you truly want to spend time in creating memories with family or friends, cooking, or relaxing eating a quick meal. These simple updates for your kitchen will create the modern space that you are looking for in your home and create a space that you want to spend time in moving forward into the future. In choosing to update your kitchen’s style, you can create a mood that you are completely happy with.
