Most people give preference to handmade gifts over items bought from stores or shops for Mother’s Day. Instead of beauty, price, splendor, and exquisiteness, people give importance to the personal touch and extra care related to handmade gifts. Mother’s Day is a perfect occasion to make good use of your artisanship.

Give Simple Items with Personalized Touch
A little, cute gift will be the best way to pamper your mom. Make an eye mask by using clip art and embellishments or give her a cute key ring made of fabric, decorative buttons, and contrasting embroidery threads. Otherwise, give her a personalized cellphone case by using thick fabric and your sewing skill. If your mother likes to read books on her iPad or Kindle, make her a handmade tablet case.
Gardening Utensils
If your mom loves gardening, the best possible gift for her could be a box full of gardening essentials. Buy some gardening instruments like peat pots, hand fork, gardening twine, gardening scissors, bumper seed collection, and some other necessary tools. Place all the tools in an enamel bucket, wrap it with cellophane, and tie a knot with a ribbon. You can also give your mother one or two gardening books with some rare plants in handmade pots. Normal clay-made pots will also be fine. However, practicing your painting skill on them will make them more beautiful and personal.

Family Photos
Old family photos can be a very good memory-evoking gift for your mother. Make a photo frame and attach to it old family pictures, personal mementoes, and treasures. You can fill the photo frame with snaps taken in a particular old family trip and with tickets and souvenirs related to that trip. You can also print out a photo of your mom at her young age on a large canvas. You can also imprint some pictures, which are special to your mom, on a large paper and use it to make a paper lantern.

A Beauty Box
Make a beauty box for your mom and fill it with some handmade jewelry items and beauty products. Use a hat box, wallpaper, and glue to make the box. Fill the box with handmade exfoliating body scrub using her favorite scents, some glamorous polymer clay jewelry items, a necklace made with colorful beads, a fabric flower pin, tassel earrings, and some soaps cut after shape of heart. At last, tie the box with colorful ribbons and present to your mom.

You can also treat your mom with a box of chocolates or a bunch of flowers. You can also make her a special breakfast or take her to outing. However, a handmade gift will truly be a treasured one because she can keep it with her and cherish it for many years.
