Every family is unique in its own way. For some, a reunion means involving hundreds of members from the same clan, whereas, for others it might mean getting a few uncles, aunts and cousins together. Whatever your case maybe, building a proper guest list is of much importance. The size of your guest list will help to determine the type of venue you will need. When planning a family reunion, you obviously want maximum people to attend the show. So in order to gauge interest, send out a family poll either by mail or by post to get an idea of how many people are willing. Make sure to do so at least 6-9 months before with some proposed dates and locations.

Family Reunion Locations and Facilities
While family reunion venues are everywhere, make sure to look for a place that caters to a variety of interests, physical abilities, and age levels. Also, find out what facilities would be available such as drinking water, changing rooms, grilling facilities, swimming pool, picnic tables and more.

Unless this reunion is of five sisters at some Aunt’s house, it’s important to involve other members to plan a successful family reunion. Find dependable and enthusiastic relatives to take charge of various aspects like location, budget, mailings, food, transportation and more.

This is perhaps the most important part of a family reunion especially the larger ones as it may require substantial funding. Don’t feel compelled to foot the bill on your own. After all, it’s a “family reunion”. So take everything into account such as food, accommodations, decorations, favors and activities to determine a budget. You can choose to set a per family registration fees or have each one pay for their overnight accommodations, get a covered dish etc.
Overall, planning a family reunion might seem like a daunting task in the beginning, but once you get all the pieces in place, it’s much like organizing any other event.
