Top of the Mornin’ to ya!  A cheerful greeting for a very cheerful and fun-filled holiday; that’s right, St. Patrick’s Day!  A couple great ways to help revel in this glorious holiday are with some hearty D.I.Y. crafts for the day.  Since the color green I can be such a dominant color, you don’t have engulf your dwellings with green yet rather have specific pieces that stand out.

How about for your St. Patrick’s craft you decorate yourself, and not just with hair coloring or facial paint.  Try putting together some accessories or even a little outfit for your St. Paddy’s Day décor.  Little necklaces, earrings, hair boutonnieres, shamrock hair clips and even skirts made out of green colored pillow cases can be influential pieces for you to display your Irish pride.  Visit some online tutorials on how to create the perfect accessories for the day.

A beautiful floral arrangement set as a centerpiece or just a wonderful accent will always help the holiday.  Not only will the arrangement act as a great decorative piece in your home for the day but it also helps to invite the spring season in with its organic and refreshing appeal.  Choose a variety of different types of green floral and place them in a glass vase.  For kicks add a shamrock garland around it, wherever you decide to put it.

Of course, with most major holidays food will always be a treasured way of celebrating it.  And the same is true for St. Patrick’s Day.  You can go with the traditional approach which is cooking some of the traditional Irish foods like corned beef hash or perhaps you might want to just go green with all of your food like green velvet cake, green eggs and ham, or green candied popcorn the choice is yours.  Research some recipes that you and your family (or guest) would like to enjoy for the holiday.

Wreaths are great to help call in a different season, holiday or celebration.  They are the first piece that you see when you come into someone’s home and the last thing you lay eyes on when you leave.  Try mixing it up you can do an entire Shamrock wreath or a wreath with Leprechaun hats or different fabrics of green wreath or candy and plastic green eggs wreath the possibilities are endless.

It’s St. Patrick’s Day and let’s celebrate it will a bang.  You don’t have to go overboard with your St. Patrick’s crafts just a few simple additions will be good enough.  So go out and see what other crafts you might like to do for St. Patrick’s Day and be inspired!
