Usually made on a vertical rotisserie called a spit, Doner Kebab has become one of the most preferred fast foods in the European countries. Directions

  1. Remove any bits of bones and skin from meat. Cut it into serving slices, approximately ¼-1/2 inches thick. Pound the meat with a tenderizer.
  2. Prepare a marinade by mixing olive oil, onion juice, salt, pepper, and, milk. Pour it over the meat and cover the dish with a plastic wrap. Place it in the refrigerator overnight.
  3. Next day take out the meat from the refrigerator and allow it to come to the room temperature (Approximately 30-45 minutes). Use a knife or a meat cutter to shred it and then fry it in a teflon pan for 3 minutes on one side before flipping to the other side. Consider cooking the meat in olive oil for healthier preparation.
  4. Serve the meat in a Turkish style by taking it off from the frying pan and putting it plane on the plate. You can also serve it on pita bread with a yogurt dressing prepared with bell-pepper flakes, cumin, salt, and, pimento.

Tip: Traditionally, Doner Kebabs were served on a plate with rice, hot sauce, ground paprika, and melted butter.

Overall, Doner kebab is looked at as a comfort food. It can be eaten in a sandwich or as full meal. The choice is yours!
