Paint, paint and paint:
If you have heard it once you have heard it millions of times, paint is the least expensive way to transform your bathroom. Add color, simplicity or boldness with a few cans of paint and your ideas. Consider adding wood, or beadboard to the walls and ceiling for a beach or cottage themed bathroom. In an urban apartment, consider adding color to a concrete floor with beautiful concrete stains. Visit your home improvement center or paint center for eco-friendly paints, stains and finishes to bring color and a new look for cheap to your bathroom.
Add furniture:
Long gone are the days where the bathroom was considered a place to hurry out of! In today’s modern bathroom homeowners like to linger, relax and enjoy their bathroom. Try adding a piece of furniture from another space of your home! A decorative stool, chair or even a small side table can add a warm and cozy feel to your cold looking bathroom. Choose a theme for your bathroom and carry it through to the furniture. Want to add a glam look? Large mirrors, a fluffy area rug, and a chandelier will change your bathroom instantly. No longer is the bathroom considered the “undecorated space”.

Patterns with wallpaper:
Another way to add pizzazz to your boring bathroom is add drama and visual detailing with wallpaper. Wallpaper is one of the greatest finishes because it can create a themed bathroom without having a lot of accessories and decor. Choose from large floral prints to subdued geometric patterns, whichever you choose ensure it fits the scale of your bathroom. The smaller the bathroom, the smaller the wallpaper print should be or visually the large patterns will swallow up your bathroom space. Hey, no one wants to feel like they are in a smaller bathroom, right?

Brighten your bathroom for cheap and still love the look when you’re finished. From adding color and patterns to your walls to adding furniture for a decorative look, the possibilities are endless. Also, don’t forget about the “5th wall” – your ceiling! Bathroom ceilings often get forgotten – paint them a beautiful coordinated shade to compliment the rest of the bathroom to draw the eye upwards. Remember, a larger bathroom is a more enjoyable one, especially when you don’t spend a lot to create the look.
