Window boxes – curb appeal without the curb!

Entry #53, March 28, 2010

Bring color and greenery to the front of your home

Want to increase the curb appeal of your home, but don’t have a curb? Have you considered window baskets or boxes? They are a great way to add color, greenery, and you can view them from the inside of your home as well! Whether you have a driveway/sidewalk that you can plant additional landscaping, or you have an urban apartment – we can help bring some color to your home.

Demesne has a feature on choosing the right containers and how to start planting a window basket/box.

If you do have a porch, consider hanging flowering baskets

Do you have an area to hang flowering baskets? Like window boxes they brighten up your home and add visual interest from the street.

Have a great patio? For the front or the back of your home you can add hanging baskets.

Casa Sugar has easy steps on how to plant a window basket with sheet moss.  For step by step directions, go visit them at Casa Sugar.

If you’re like me, you like to SEE step by step directions. I  found this great YouTube video on 3 easy steps to planting a hanging flower basket! Kings Plant Barn shows how to pick a container, soil and how to plant.  Does it get easier than that?

I create acid stain concrete fine art in various sizes, and they have been lauded for their durability, uniqueness, being GREEN and their ability to withstand all weather conditions. My approach to either figurative or abstract themes and with a selected palette makes my art ideal for outdoor use. For the most part these art pieces are bolted into the walls for security and strength, but can later be removed if owner changes location. I really love the window boxes, and I think they could compliment each other very well.
