Last season on HGTV’s Sarah’s House – I never missed an episode! I loved how she would buy a run down home, and completely bring it back to life. Last season it was an old farmhouse. One of the million touches I loved was a an old barn wood ceiling in the boy’s room. At first, I couldn’t envision how it was going to look but the outcome was gorgeous.
So I decided to start looking at other wood ceiling inspiration. One day, I’m thinking my vaulted ceiling in our living room will be the perfect candidate for it! Check out some of these other types of wood ceilings – tell me your thoughts!
Armstrong Ceilings has a wide selection of ceilings from tin to wood. The following are from their Woodhaven Collection.
This ‘Weathered’ variety is similar to that in Sarah’s House. Although hers had a lot more variation in tones and colors. This one would look great in a beach house!
I love when dark wood is put in rooms with lots of natural light. The result is rich and airy at the same time.
Armstrong’s ‘New Apple’ is modern and warm. The recessed lighting in this ceiling really sets the tone for a contemporary feel.
The versatility of wood is so appealing, it can be smooth and flawless. It also can show knots and veins like this ‘Rusty Pine’. This is great application for a home with a rustic appeal.
